Michael Tannousis was elected to the New York State Assembly on November 3, 2020, representing District 64, which includes parts of Southern Brooklyn and the East Shore of Staten Island. He began public service in 2006 as an aide to former New York City Council Minority Leader James Oddo, later served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx and Richmond County District Attorney's offices, and also served as Counsel to New York City Council Member Joseph Borelli. He is a lifelong Staten Islander and the son of Greek immigrants displaced by conflict in Cyprus.
