Michael J. Fitzpatrick was elected to the New York State Assembly representing the 8th Assembly District on November 5, 2002. Before joining the Assembly, he represented Smithtown as an elected Town Board member for 15 years, from 1988 through 2002. In addition to public service, he spent more than 20 years in the financial services industry and has been active in community organizations including the Knights of Columbus, Ancient Order of Hibernians, and Cleary School for the Deaf.
