She also supports small-business tax relief, incentives, grants, reduced regulation, infrastructure investment, and job creation tied to energy, STEM, and responsible data-center development.
Specific Actions & Proposals
Ryan supports reducing individual income-tax rates and state sales tax, reforming property-tax calculations, eliminating the state gas tax on the 1st and 15th of each month, and eliminating or drastically reducing school taxes for single-family homeowners age 65 and older.
SourceRyan says she would fight for tax reductions and caps on increases, create incentives for new businesses, pursue grants, and reduce burdensome regulations that make it harder for owners to improve, renovate, or expand businesses.
SourceRyan supports data-center development that can bring private investment and high-skill jobs, but says companies should pay incremental infrastructure costs and incentives should be transparent, measurable, and tied to public benefits such as jobs and infrastructure improvements.

She also supports legal immigration and assistance for legally admitted international STEM students navigating federal visa rules, while opposing state policies that circumvent federal immigration law.
Specific Actions & Proposals

SourceRyan says New York universities and employers should provide clear information and assistance to legally admitted international students and researchers navigating federal visa requirements, while avoiding policies that circumvent federal immigration law.
SourceLaurie Ryan emphasizes affordability, reliability, consumer choice, and conservation-first environmental policy rather than rapid all-electric mandates. She supports a diverse energy mix including nuclear, natural gas, hydropower, wind and solar, while opposing solar projects that clear forests, use farmland, or are placed on drinking-water supplies.
Specific Actions & Proposals
Ryan supports slowing implementation of policies that would force New Yorkers toward an all-electric system before the grid and energy infrastructure are ready, favoring evidence-based timelines tied to costs and reliability.
SourceRyan states that New York should prioritize a diverse portfolio including nuclear, natural gas, hydropower, wind and solar, with reliable dispatchable sources during renewable, storage, and transmission buildout.
SourceRyan lists lowering utility costs as a top priority and says she would work to reduce unnecessary costs, improve reliability, and ensure energy policies put affordability first.
SourceRyan supports responsible alternative energy development but opposes clearing forests, destroying productive farmland, or placing large-scale solar projects on drinking-water supplies merely to meet a mandate.
