Committee Assignments: Committee on Agriculture · Committee on Election Law · Committee on Environmental Conservation · Committee on Real Property Taxation · Committee on Small Business · Committee on Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development · Task Force on Food, Farm & Nutrition Policy
Christopher Tague, the Republican candidate for New York State Senate District 51 in 2026 and a sitting New York Assembly member, frames healthcare around affordability, patient choice, and opposition to government-run single-payer healthcare. His record includes supporting health care savings accounts, resisting cuts to home-care Medicaid services, backing municipal access to self-funded health plans, and co-sponsoring measures aimed at cost review and workforce access.
Specific Actions & Proposals
Tague opposed New York single-payer healthcare as costly and limiting choice, and instead called for 529-style health care savings accounts with tax-free contributions.
SourceTague joined Assembly Minority colleagues in opposing a proposed $75 million cut to CDPAP, saying the Medicaid home-care program helps seniors and people with disabilities direct their own care.
SourceChristopher Tague’s economy-and-jobs messaging centers on lowering regulatory and labor-cost burdens for small businesses and farms, protecting agricultural land, and directing state support toward rural/agricultural economic development. His record as a sitting New York Assembly member emphasizes opposing farm labor overtime mandates he says threaten farms and jobs, while supporting relief, investment, and market access for small businesses and farmers.
Specific Actions & Proposals
Tague urged state officials to reject lowering the farm laborer overtime threshold, warning that increased labor costs would jeopardize farm viability, rural communities, and agriculture jobs.
SourceTague called for investments in agricultural technology, research, SUNY/Cornell programs, meat-processing capacity, and smarter regulations to sustain farm jobs and local communities.
SourceChristopher Tague's immigration record as a New York Assembly Republican shows support for stricter state and local cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, additional reporting/screening requirements for refugees, and limits on state-directed migrant sheltering unless localities opt in.
Christopher Tague, a Republican Assembly member running for New York State Senate District 51 in 2026, emphasizes energy affordability, reliability, local control, and preserving consumer access to fossil-fuel systems while criticizing aggressive climate and electrification mandates as burdensome for farmers and upstate communities.
Specific Actions & Proposals
Tague publicly opposed the RAPID Act, arguing that streamlined renewable energy permitting was causing upstate farmland to be overtaken by solar and renewable-energy facilities without sufficient benefit to host communities.
SourceChristopher Tague’s education record emphasizes agricultural education and dairy access in schools, plus expanded access for homeschooled students to public-school extracurricular programs. His campaign page for the 2026 New York State Senate District 51 race did not list a detailed education platform, so these positions are based on his current Assembly legislative actions.
Christopher Tague, the Republican nominee for New York State Senate District 51 in 2026 and a sitting Assembly member, emphasizes a tough-on-crime public safety agenda: supporting law enforcement, expanding bail eligibility/judicial discretion, and opposing New York’s bail reforms. His public statements and co-sponsored bills focus on repealing or revising bail reform, protecting police and first responders, and increasing penalties for violent or threatening conduct.
