Amanda Septimo is a lifelong Bronx resident and community activist whose organizing began in adolescence in the South Bronx, including work with The Point Community Development Corporation's A.C.T.I.O.N. teen activist program. She worked for Congressman José E. Serrano as a community liaison and later district director, then worked with the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators before winning the New York State Assembly District 84 seat in 2020 and taking office in 2021.
